The city of New Rome faces a duel between Caesar Catilinus, a brilliant artist who advocates for a utopian future, and the greedy mayor Franklin Cicero. Among them is Julia Cicero, whose loyalty is divided between her father and her lover. Francis Ford Coppola wrote the screenplay in the early 1980s, but the film was shelved in part due to his financial debts. My PromiseWritten by Grace VanderWaal. Performed by Grace VanderWaal courtesy of Columbia Records. By arrangement with Sony Music Entertainment Produced and orchestrated by Chris Kukul. Full disclosure: this movie is a disaster of epic proportions, an absolute trainwreck that derails, crashes, and somehow catches fire. It’s a so-bad-it’s-almost-awesome, so-scary-it’s-awesome nightmare for future cult fans to dream about. And you know what? I respect Coppola for that. The guy is a movie legend who just decided to throw caution to the wind (and coherence) and drive a scientist crazy. It’s a brilliant, unfiltered mess from the mind of a genius who has clearly stopped caring what anyone thinks. Bravo, great madman! 👏🏻.
