He is passionate about both mindfulness and psychiatry, and seeks to blend the two. Although he primarily focuses on TMS and psychopharmacology, he is trained in various modalities of psychotherapy including CBT, DBT, EMDR, and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.

In 1994, Perry separated the age groups and opened a second sober living house for men in the Torrance, California area to accommodate the older adults. Maverick House’s success in working with young men began to take off once the guys began living with their own peers. Founded in San Pedro by Perry Petacia, Maverick House was formed to directly serve young men in recovery. An alcoholic himself, Perry had been through a recovery center that emphasized identifying and modifying self-sabotaging behavior. Our educational program is designed to help young men further their education, earn their next achievements and degrees, and learn fundamental life and relationship skills. Psychiatrists, facilitators, and educators are among the professionals who partner with our sober living homes in Los Angeles. Many of our partners have worked with us for several years, and all are considered part of the New Life family. Sebastian has been participating in drug and alcohol treatment and recovery for over a decade, and has a passion for assisting people as they work through areas of life similar to the ones that he has struggled with. Sebastian has worked with Maverick House in a variety of roles, and spent time both directing the houses and focusing on the alumni, as well as working with the clinical team at Clear Recovery Center. In the early 1990s, many families of teenagers and young men approached Maverick House to help address their son’s addictions.

At the time, long-term, sober living resident services for teens and young men in Los Angeles were unavailable. The disparity in their emotional ages, social skills, and life experiences was significant enough to require different approaches for each group of men for sobriety. We believe that for your loved one to successfully recover, the process should be a partnership.

John has been working as an assistant manager since the beginning of 2023 and his focus is to bring the love and tolerance that he was so freely given. Known for their strategic acumen, David excels in cultivating impactful connections within the community and driving collaborative initiatives. Their passion for supporting individuals on their recovery journey is reflected in their ability to convey the mission of New Life through effective marketing campaigns.

Our structured sobriety programs, compassionate staff, supportive community and decades of experience support young Review Maverick House men and their families at every step on their path to recovery. Maxwell is a dedicated advocate for recovery and personal growth, deeply grateful to work for the very program that transformed his life. Through his journey, he discovered the path to manhood and now strives to guide others towards the same profound realization.

Robert is not only a group facilitator, but also a life coach and sponsor for many within the recovery community at large, whilst also pursuing his degree in International Studies and Japanese Language at CSU Long Beach. He has worked in nearly all roles of residential treatment including primary counselor, case manager, admissions director, business development, clinical director and executive director. Irina Jodzio is the Parent Intensive and Family Group Facilitator at Maverick House. Irina has an extensive background working with young adults and their families, and has been participating in the Maverick House community for many years, helping the young men recover. In addition to our recovery staff, we have partnered services with specialists to provide the best treatment for young men in recovery.
