Scenario
Following the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, attempts to take over Gotham’s criminal underworld. From melting makeup to filming in freezing temperatures, Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti discuss how they got into character during the production of Penguin. Colin Farrell fought hard to get his version of The Penguin to smoke tobacco in Batman (2022), but he was unsuccessful. However, in his own series, the character is portrayed as an occasional tobacco user, preferring cigars.
The umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros
logo. Appears in Graham Norton and stars: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). Batman, for me, simply had the best portrayal of Gotham City on film. The environment was disgustingly dank and visually everything you would want to see in a familiar setting.
This series fully steps up those aspects and builds on the film perfectly
A big part of that was his underworld of the mafia, where Oswald, aka Penguin, was starting to take over. I can’t say enough about Colin Farrell’s performance in this film and honestly it might be his magnum opus. The guy gives the character the most gruff and gutter vibe he can and it’s done so well that it resonates. Even without Batman the intrigue on his part is so strong that you don’t even notice it.
I can overlook that though
The other side characters are pretty well done, although some of the casting choices seem a little off for some. This series continues the Batman universe perfectly and I can’t wait to see what comes of it. One of the best series in the last decade. Give Colin Farrell all the awards he deserves for this role.
